Students: Beginning in the 2010-2011 academic year Wartburg will be using the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program for all Stafford loans. There are two easy steps for you to complete the process. Step 1: Financial Aid will electronically certify your Stafford Loan once you have registered for classes and have completed an electronic Master Promissory Note (eMPN). This eMPN will be used for all subsidized and unsubsidized Federal Stafford loans. This NEW form needs to be completed once at Wartburg. Subsequent Stafford loans accepted by you will be automatically processed under the same eMPN in future academic years. Complete federal Stafford loan eMPN. Step 2: In order to receive Stafford Loan funds on your student account you will need to complete an Entrance Counseling session. Click on the Entrance and Exit Counseling link toward the top of the welcome page and complete the Entrance Counseling process. Upon completion of the eMPN and Entrance Counseling loan funds will be disbursed through an electronic funds transfer (EFT) to your student account at the beginning of each term. Parents: As of the 2010-2011 academic year, Wartburg will be participating in the Federal Direct Loan program. If you wish to borrow on behalf of your son or daughter in the federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) program please complete the following two easy steps. Step 1: All NEW and PREVIOUS parent borrowers will need to complete an electronic Master Promissory Note (eMPN) online. Complete the Federal Direct PLUS eMPN. Step 2: You will also need to complete a PLUS loan request form. This form needs to be completed each time you wish to borrow a new amount. |
