Waverly is part of the greater Cedar Valley metro area with a combined population of approximately 150,000. A variety of entertainment options are available within a short walk of the Wartburg campus or within a 20-minute drive to nearby Waterloo and Cedar Falls.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the area offers fantastic bike trails and recreational pursuits on the Cedar River, including canoeing and kayaking. Right on campus, the Wartburg-Waverly Sports and Wellness Center provides indoor and outdoor recreational programs for the area.

You can enjoy live entertainment on campus, at Waverly establishments, and in the Cedar Falls and Waterloo downtown districts. Broadway and classical music fans will enjoy the Wartburg Artist Series, the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center in Cedar Falls, the Wartburg Community Symphony, and the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra.
