Ferol Menzel
Vice
President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty
Vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty since 1999, Ferol Schricker Menzel is the chief academic officer of the college. She oversees academic departments, academic programs, including the Leadership Institute, Global and Multicultural Studies, Undergraduate Research, the Center for Community Engagement, Essential Education, and the Vogel Library. In addition, she provides leadership in curricular development, supervises and approves faculty hiring, and orchestrates the faculty evaluation and tenure processes. She also works with the following standing committees of the faculty: Appointment Rank and Tenure, Educational Policies, Faculty Development, Faculty Council, General Education, and Instructional Resources. She serves as a member of the President's Cabinet.
Dr. Menzel is a 1969 graduate of The Ohio State University. She received her master's degree and Ph.D. in child development from Iowa State University. She served at Grand View College as a professor of psychology, assistant to the president, interim vice president for finance, and vice president for student life and enrollment management. She served on the Board of Trustees of the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools from 2001 to 2007, serving as a member of the Executive Committee 2002-2003, Vice Chair 2003-2004, Chair 2004-2005,and Vice President of the North Central Association 2005-2006, and Chair of the North Central Association in 2006-2007. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, and the American Psychological Society. In 2007 she was awarded the Chief Academic Officer Award by the Council of Independent College for her work on behalf of chief academic officers.
TyAnn
Lindell
Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs
TyAnn Lindell has worked in the office
of the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of the Faculty since
2002. She collaborates with department chairs and program coordinators
to coordinate academic staffing and scheduling, including summer
school; identifies and notifies students on academic probation and
suspension; maintains the academic catalog; and provides administrative
support for the development of accreditation efforts and other administrative
activities. In addition she serves as instructional technology consultant
for the faculty, assisting in supporting instructional technology
on campus.
